About

Hi! I’m Melitta Jackson. Thank you for taking the time to read about…well me! I’m a Yurok Tribal member, Hoopa, Shasta, Karuk and Modoc descendant. I grew up in the Hoopa Reservation and along the Humboldt County coastline in Northern California.

I am currently an Administrative Support Assistant for Humboldt State University Departments of Critical Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Native American Studies and World Languages and Cultures. I am an HSU graduate with my BA in Art Studio with emphasis in graphic design and illustration and a minor in Art history and a certificate in Museum and Gallery Practices.

My favorite medium is ink and water color, but I do still dabble in graphic illustration and graphic design here and there.

My influences are: Audrey Kawasaki, Dave Koenig, James Jean, Esao Andrews, my family, my culture, her friends and my experiences.
